The company operates its business through five segments: Industry and Assurance, Commodities, Consumer Goods, Commercial and Electrical and Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals. The Industry and Assurance segment provides asset integrity management, exploration and production support, consulting, training and third-party management systems auditing. This segment also provides certification services, second-party supplier auditing, sustainability data verification and process performance analysis. It serves the oil, gas, nuclear, power, renewable energy, construction, food, chemical and agricultural industries. The Commodities segment offers independent cargo inspection, analytical assessment, calibration and related research and technical services to the petroleum, mining, minerals and bio fuels industries. The Consumer Goods segment provides testing, inspection, auditing, quality assurance, hazardous substance testing and advisory services. It also assists on issues ranging from restricted hazardous substances and sustainability, to supply chain security and legislation relating to environmental, ethical and trade security issues. This segment provides services to the textiles, toys, footwear, hard lines and food and retail industries. The Commercial and Electrical segment provides safety, performance, quality testing and certification services. It serves the home appliances, consumer electronics, lighting, medical, building, industrial & HVAC/R, information and communications technology, renewable energy and transportation sectors. The Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals segment offers laboratory measurement and expert consultancy related technical support services and sustainability solutions.
